My first artifact for Standard 10: Partnerships, is a recommendation form for a graduate school at University of Seattle from Mrs. Rodwell, my supervising teacher. I received a copy of this recommendation letter after it was submitted, and it meant a lot to me, and I think it shows how well I can work with someone. The College of Idaho turned out to be a better fit for me when considering an M.A.T program.
I stayed in Idaho and am very thankful that I did. The partnership with my supervising teacher is one that I really value. Mrs. Rodwell has always believed in me, and supported me. I think these things are shown in this recommendation letter. In order to get this type of partnership, I had to work hard for it. I have always been prepared and communicated properly with Mrs. Rodwell, and it’s made our relationship become very strong. I have been sure to come to things she has invited me to (if the students are putting on a play or are showing their projects), and I also have given tours around my college at times when her students are coming to see the college.
This is the type of partnership that has already made a difference in my life. It has also shown me what type of teacher and professional partner I want to be to other people. I will always remember how Mrs. Rodwell treated me, and know to treat other teachers the same, especially new teachers.

This is Alicia Strand and me. Alicia was my lead teacher during the second part of my internship year. I taught second grade with her. She always believed in me and at the beginning she never thought she would be able to trust someone and leave her classroom. Within three weeks, Alicia was letting me teach and leaving the classroom here and there to get other things planned for next couple of weeks. She was very helpful and that is exactly how I want to be with new teachers in the future. We did well team teaching: if she was teaching, I was on top of it and started handing out papers she needed the students to have, and she did the same for me. She was nervous to have a student teacher. I believe we both ended up trusting each other a lot, bouncing ideas off of one another (when it came to student problems or lessons) and becoming good friends!
